Weekend Preview #1

28 October
Its show time this weekend, the clubs that have not found form yet, can not afford to go through the weekend without any points.
We start of with Van der Stel vs Grassy Park Crusaders, VDS with a good win against Maitland in their 1st game came unstuck last week vs Durbanville. They have the pick of the weekend playing two teams that have not found their straps yet, but that may rebound on them. VDS play VOB on Sunday. Grassypark have won 2 from 2 so far and will be considering themselves as fav for the game on Saturday. Grassypark play Helderberg on Sunday.
Giants face Helderberg and this is going to be an interesting game that we anticipate Giants will go hard at Pirates, seeing they are facing log leaders Bothasig on Sunday. Jaz has shown that he can make any team struggle, so it will be interesting to see how MG use him this weekend. Hold him back and see how deep their other pitchers will go against Pirates? Should be a good game.

Westridge must fancy their chances against VOB on Saturday, but VOB have plans to end up in the playoffs, so they are not going to roll over here. VOB have VDS on Sunday, having already faced the two tough clubs Bothasig and Bellville. Yankees face Athlone on Sunday who are certainly going to be a handful.
A’s face Bellville on Saturday and they are certainly going to give Bellville a workout not wanting to have another shutout against their name. This is probably THE game of the day. A’s face Yankees on Sunday and Bellville face Durbanville on Sunday.
Durbanville will face a rampant and tight Bothasig outfit on Saturday. Bothasig with a large bullpen should take this game and then on Sunday they face Maitand. Durbanville facing Bellville on Sunday will do real well if they can get any points this weekend.

Sunday 29th
VOB – VDS – anyone’s match – much depends on how deep the starting pitchers can go on Saturday for both teams.
Pirates face Grassypark on Sunday and may have enough in the bullpen to make GP work real hard for the win. This will be an exciting game.
Athlone face Yankees and once more I think this is the game to watch – Athlone need to get some points for the weekend and this is the one they can not lose.
Bothasig face Maitland and if Maitland can keep Jaz for this game, this game will go deep in the innings – the strong bullpen under Raymond Tew and the mix of youth and experience is going to make this a tough game for Giants.
Durbanville hitters should be facing the 2nd half of Tygers bullpen, but would they have enough in the pen to contain the likes of Shannon Eckermans and his line up?
An exciting weekend of baseball.
